I consider you to be the real mistress of the house. God knows when Ba would recover. Do not forget the we are extremely poor. |

The life of Brahmachari and of a Sanyasi are similar it is character which counts. Our lot is poverty and the poor alone is the blessed person. You have taken the sacred thread but personally I feel this is a hindrance in mixing with the rest. Meaning given by the modern Sanyasi like Swami Dayanand to the sacred books is different from that given by the orthodox people. I hesitate to accept the morden meaning I would like to,learn from him. Hope he will not leave South Africa before I am out of Jail. Request him to send me more literature in case he has to leave. Thanks Bhal Keshvaram for sending me the upanishads. How are ( then follow names of inmates of the phoniex ashram and of others) Then follow instructions regarding the Phoniex settlement) I have read and thought. I feel education does not mean a knowledge of letters only. You should not therefore feel worried if you do not get it in enough quality. Real education lies in building character ans ypu are having it. Do concentrate on Mathematics and Sanskrit and Music. Do take care of every pie and of every minute. Send copies of this letter to (names given) and send me your reply in details and also let me know what others say about this. |

Your letter. I was happy to learn that you have been sympathising with the Indians there and have started the work to ameliorate their sufferings. It is tragic that some learned persons from India do not know about the real nature and secrets of the administrations.
